CHILDREN’S CLASSES
Our children’s classes are designed by our ceramic instructor Mom’s to introduce new painting techniques
to our young painters. Once introduced, these techniques can be used on a wide variety of other ceramic projects. We’ve
picked fun and useful items to paint and made sure our classes were very affordable. Our upcoming summer and fall class
items will change with the seasons. Some classes may be revisited depending on popularity. Classes will be limited
to approximately one hour and all materials are included in the cost of the class. Children's
Classes start at $12 and Adult Classes range for $18 - $25 per person.
The items we are presenting
are privately poured so advance reservation is important. Reserve a seat for ONE or ALL of the classes today as class
size will be limited!
WE LOVE MOM and cookies too! Make a heart shaped cookie press or candy mold while learning
how to sponge paint in multiple pastel colors. We’ll even fill the press with chocolate and wrap it in ribbons
for presentation to Mom on Mother’s Day. All fired presses are oven and dishwasher safe!
MARBLE JEWEL BOX! We’ll use shaving cream and paints to teach a marbleizing technique
on a medium round box. These boxes are very popular in the studio and make a great little jewelry hide-away or gift
item.
UNDER THE TUSCAN SUNFLOWER! Kids make a really cute sunflower tart warmer
while learning which brush to use and the correct paint technique to get dark coverage. The sunflower tart will be painted
in rich gold, blue and greens. We’ll even provide a scented tart in their finished warmer!
BUBBLES UP! Just blow bubbles to paint this ginger
jar or pitcher and bowl. This bubble technique is a blast for kids and the finished product looks great.
THE PLAQUE SAYS IT ALL! We’ll teach kids how to transfer a design onto a bisque tile plaque that
can hang just about anywhere. We’ll use bumpy paints to outline the designs and paint them in by dripping paints
inside the design.
GOING GREEN WITH THE HERB POT! Kids learn how to use cut out designs (contact paper) and fan brushes to
make lettering and polka dots on our hanging herb pot. The hanging herb pots will be strung with fishing line and ready
to plant their favorite herb!
ALL THAT GLITTERS! PINK POODLES GALORE! We’ll paint our poodle figurine and learn how to apply
GLITTER to all of the poodle pompoms to make it really sparkle.
EVERYTHINGS COMING UP VIOLETS! Kids paint a two-piece “violet”
flowerpot and learn to use freckle and bumpy paint to accent the pieces. They’ll leave some areas on the inside
pot unpainted for water absorption. (These flowerpots are designed to self-water).
LEGENDS, MYTHS AND CRYSTALS! Kids can choose from a Unicorn,
Princess, Dragon or Wizard GOBLET to paint for their very own use. We’ll teach how to use crystal paints in this
class for a really special effect!
VACATION HOME FOR FEATHERED FRIENDS! (this class is NOT recommended for children under 8
years of age as designs may be too intricate) Talvera is the brightly colored “Spanish-style” painting commonly
seen in outdoor garden pieces. Using rich Mediterranean colors, children will learn to paint interesting designs on
a darling mushroom-shaped birdhouse. These adorable birdhouses can hang in your garden or porch for years!
PAINTING
WITH PINKY! Paint a sweet pug figurine and have our little mascot “Pinky the Pug” autograph it for
you. We’ll learn how to make painted eyes come alive in this fun class.
